COMPARE INSURANCE
Insurance policies pile up without you noticing. Some you genuinely need, some you already have twice. Building an overview is more valuable here than switching quickly.
WHAT TO CHECK
- Which policies you currently hold, their annual cost and their renewal dates.
- Duplicate cover, for example travel cover already included elsewhere or via a credit card.
- The excess per policy and whether it fits your buffer.
- Whether insured amounts still match your situation, for example after moving.
- Exclusions in the small print, because that is where policies really differ.
- Whether paying monthly costs more than paying annually.
STEPS
- 01Make a listEvery active policy with premium, cover and renewal date.
- 02Cut duplicatesFind overlap before you start comparing on price.
- 03Compare like for likeOnly put policies side by side with comparable cover and excess.
A cheaper policy with less cover is not a saving if that is exactly the risk you cannot carry.
